It is bounded from east to south by the capital's gateways (Porte de Villiers, Porte des Ternes and Porte Maillot), as well as by the Bois de Boulogne. Neuilly sur Seine also encompasses a large part of Ile de la Jatte (with the exception of its northern tip, which is part of Levallois Perret) and the northeastern tip of Ile de Puteaux, also known as Ile du Pont. The commune boasts 24 hectares of green space. With 59,599 inhabitants in 2019 on a surface area of 3.73 km², its population density is 15,978 inhabitants per km².
Neuilly sur Seine has 1,385 condominiums, the vast majority of which (983) have between 11 and 49 lots. Almost as many (937) are managed by a professional syndic, while only 20 are managed by non-professional syndics. Just under half of these condominiums (562) were built before 1949. Since then, the rate of construction has steadily declined.
The town of Neuilly sur Seine has embarked on a project to redevelop the Allées de Neuilly. The aim is to realign the perspective of the emblematic historic axis designed by Le Nôtre in 1670, and recreate a 6 km royal promenade from Concorde to the Grande Arche. Meanwhile, rue de Chartres, the first stage in the transformation of the Sablons district, is nearing completion, with asphalt paving of the roadway and final structure, as well as the laying of cobblestones.
