Puteaux is a French commune located on the left bank of the Seine, in the Hauts-de-Seine department of the Île-de-France region. It is home to a large part of the La Défense business district. It also occupies land in Courbevoie, Nanterre and La Garenne Colombes. Puteaux is home to La Défense's most emblematic buildings: the Grande Arche, the Centre des Nouvelles Industries et Technologies (CNIT) and the Les Quatre Temps shopping center. The town covers an area of 3.19 km². Its population was 45,157 in 2019, representing a density of 14,156 inhabitants per km².
Puteaux has 585 condominiums, almost half of which (289) have between 11 and 49 lots. 198 have fewer than 10 lots, 87 between 50 and 199 lots and 11 more than 200 lots. 365 of these condominiums are managed by professional trustees, while only 34 are managed by non-professional trustees.138 condominiums were already established in Puteaux before 1949. After a sharp downturn in construction between 1994 and 2000, the pace of growth has picked up again.
The La Défense district has set a new strategic course. Its ambition is to become the world's first post-carbon business district. It must also become a true living district, not just a business district. The area's carbon footprint is equivalent to that of a regional capital. By 2030, Puteaux and the other players in La Défense have set themselves the target of halving greenhouse gas emissions.
In Puteaux, condominium charges range from €20 to €61 per m² per year, or €35 on average. Of course, they vary according to other criteria, such as the number of lots, building employees, elevators or simply the individualization of heating and energy optimization work.
For example, the average annual running costs per main lot in a condominium with between 50 and 199 lots and individual heating are €1,933.
