Suresnes is a commune in the Hauts de Seine department, in the Île de France region. It is located in the western suburbs of Paris and covers an area of 3.79 km². Quite close to the La Défense district, it is part of the Greater Paris metropolitan area and the Paris Ouest La Défense territorial public establishment. With a population of 49,311 in 2019, its density is 13,011 inhabitants per square kilometer. Suresnes boasts 139 hectares of green space, including 42 hectares of public parks and gardens, apart from the military section of Mont-Valérien.
Suresnes has 660 condominiums, the majority of which are buildings with fewer than 10 lots (271) and between 11 and 49 lots (302). 111 of these co-ownerships are managed by professional syndicates, compared with 51 by non-professional syndicates. Before 1949, there were already 201 condominiums in the commune. Since then, construction has stabilized.
Suresnes has launched a major consultation with residents to renovate its town center, making it more attractive and adapting it to ecological challenges. In particular, the project concerns the Passerelle des Arts, Place Henri IV and urban planning on slabs. The first developments are scheduled for 2023 and will cost between 1 and 2.5 million euros. The aim is also to increase the number of bicycle paths and make the city more pleasant for pedestrians, with new pedestrian zones and the development of play areas.
In Suresnes, condominium charges range from €20 to €49 per m2 per year, or €33 on average. Of course, they vary according to other criteria, such as the number of lots, the number of building employees, the number of elevators or, quite simply, the individualization of heating and the implementation of energy optimization work. For example, the average annual running costs per main lot in a condominium of between 50 and 199 lots, with individualized heating, are €2,143.
