Villeneuve la Garenne is a commune in the Hauts de Seine department, in the Île de France region. It was the last commune to be created in the Seine department, on April 9, 1929. It lies to the north of Paris, in the extreme northeast of the département. The commune is located on the left bank of the Seine, opposite the island of Saint Denis. Covering an area of 3.2 km² and with a population of 24,097 in 2019, Villeneuve la Garenne has a population density of 7,530 inhabitants per square kilometer. The commune boasts numerous green spaces, including the Parc Départemental des Chanteraines. This green space, dedicated to relaxation and walking, is spread over 70 hectares between the communes of Villeneuve la Garenne and Gennevilliers. It is organized into four main zones: Hautes-Bornes, Fiancés, Mariniers and Tilliers.
Villeneuve la Garenne boasts 67 condominiums, the majority with between 50 and 199 lots. Villeneuve la Garenne has selected three candidates to develop a project for the construction of a market hall, an underground parking lot and a forecourt. They must respond to the town's ambitious urban project and make the market renewal project an element of the town center's new identity and urban renewal.
